The ‘Magic’ of Michael Jackson – Awesome Poems Dedicated to an Astonishing Entertainer!

Thursday, December 31st, 2009
This is such an excellent book about Michael Jackson, and the rendering of thanks and adulations for his ingenious musical and creative dancing contributions to the world.  Patricia Ann Farnsworth-Simpson and the Poets-World-Wide really placed this book into the spotlight with their innovative styles of crafting poems and literary pieces.

The poetic forms and styles in this book are very interesting and inventive. The Acrostics form plays an important role in laying the foundation of Michael’s accomplishments and endowing credit upon him for his awesomeness. Rhyming patterns found in the standard quatrain or stanzas are also very creative. For instance, the Monchielle form gives credit to Michael’s children; Joseph’s Star speaks to his memory, and the Tree of Life form uplifts his life. The poetic form, Ricks32 addresses Michael’s pearly stage and his rainbow colorful life.

Other forms in this uplifting poetry book dedicated to a Michael as a “shining star” include:  the Mono-Rhymed Couplets wondering where he went; the Quatrain uplifting the King of Pops; Seventh Heaven form regarding his special songs; Spirit Vessel to his memory, the Rhyming Couplets relating to the matter of time; Linking Contemporary Sonnet regarding his moon walking, and the Kyrielle Sonnet regarding Michael’s music. These and other forms are really spirited regarding the tributes paid to Michael Jackson and his musical and dancing enlightenment of the world.

This incredible text really has love steaming across the globe from poets for Michael Jackson. For example, poets from Sudan, Jamaica, England; Southwest Scotland; Marmaris, Turkey;  Edinburgh, Scotland; California, Minnesota; Patagonia, Arizona; Northeast New Jersey; United Kingdom and other cities in the United States uplifting the memory and great contributions of Michael Jackson to the world.

Reading about this book is interesting; however reading this book will be very elating. One has to read it to believe it! This book speaks highly of the abominable spirit of the human family and what it is capable of accomplishing once a mission has been established. Great job to you Pat, and to all the poets who have contributed their works to this awesome book!

Manuscript Book Ghost Writers and Copy Editors

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

You should become a manuscript or book author’s ghost writer, copy editor and proof reader. However, if you’re only starting to think about a writing career, I suggest you get a bachelor’s degree in English or whatever language; perhaps in language studies, English literature, creative writing, or English in general. A master’s degree or higher is even better. I myself have a combined degree in journalism, fine arts and creative writing.

Once you have that, you need to get some experience. You could be hired by literary magazines, especially at your school, or you could write articles for newspapers, perhaps starting your own column. You can also acquire writing jobs on the Internet by looking up work. I suggest avoiding the low paying bidding jobs and going for regular posted work at sites like Daylo, or other freelancer’s sites – where writing work is posted for free.

Once you have a few writing credits, you can begin your ghost writing career. I would suggest trying to get hired by a book ghost writers service, as there are many on the Internet. Another possibility is you can start your own service, as I did; mine is called Rainbow Writing, Inc., and we hire people who either have a lot of professional experience, a good educational background, and/or show a lot of writing talent. I have over thirty years of experience at writing, especially as a book ghost writer, copy editor and proof reader.

Once you get on the Internet, you will need to search engine optimize your website, post lots of articles with your credit box attached to them, or hire pay per click or other services to get advertising exposure. Then you can begin to acquire clients. You may start by offering a free five to ten page rewrite of a chapter the client sends you; this is what is generally expected of a book ghost writer and copy editor. You can quote a price, and I would start fairly low early on in your career, unless you have prior writing experience. Ask the client what he or she can afford, but stay reasonable, so you can keep your costs low and pay your bills.

As book ghost writers, copy editors and proof readers, we all need to make sure our clients are satisfied with their results. So while you are in the writing field, make sure you read copiously and on a regular basis, write short stories, poems and articles on a regular basis to refresh your writing skills, and be sure to work on a novel or two of your own. This will keep you handy when it comes to being a book writer for others as well. Another possibility is to keep a daily hardbound journal of your writing or simply comment on your daily activities, thoughts and dreams. This sort of thing can keep you really practices; I kept such a journal for over twenty years.

As to scheduling, it’s a good idea to take on as many clients as you can handle. Don’t overload, but you’d be surprised how much work you can do once you get into the swing of it. Try to get a book ghost writer job done in two to three months. If you charge $5000 per book at first, you can make $20,000-30,000 a year if you keep up on a regular basis. Once you have more experience, you can begin charging more money.

When you are a book author, ghost writer, copy editor and proof reader, you will find you are working a job that really consumes your time, so make sure you take the time to perform your other daily activities of family life, and set aside a one hour period every day to exercise. Book writers are one group of people who have the “sedentary lifestyle pattern” hazard, so in order to avoid getting sick, you must exercise. If you don’t want to go outside and walk, purchase a cheap treadmill. Those work quite well.

Book authors, ghost writers, copy editors and proof readers all need to maintain the standards of our profession. When you are a ghost writer of any kind, chances are you won’t be allowed to take credit for your work. It’s supposed to belong to the works true “author,” who is the person paying you to do the ghost writing. Even if you do most or all of the work, your client is the author of it and is the one who receive the credit, unless you make some other arrangement. If the client is willing, you can be coauthors with him or her, or make some other such arrangement, such as you getting credit and a percentage of book sales in lieu of upfront payment.

By the way – the method of payment for a manuscript or book ghost writer is upfront. You get paid in advance, in installments usually as the book is being written. This is the main advantage of being a book or manuscript ghost writer, copy editor and proof reader – upfront payment. You need to sound the client out on his or her budget, set a total price, and then ask for the first installment payment once you have been hired.

You might also sign a contract with a non disclosure clause with the client. The contract might be three way, if you are working for a ghost writing agency, or two way, if it’s just you and the client signing it. A non disclosure clause states that you won’t discuss the book’s contents with anyone not designated by the client as someone with whom you may do so. Also, copyright laws in the USA and several other countries treatied with the USA, such as England, Canada and Australia, state that the author of the ghost written work retains full copyrights. You can check with the US Copyrights Office on the Internet to read the full scope of these laws.

Basically, even if you write the whole work yourself from research and you get nothing but basic ideas for the book from the supposed “author,” he or she is still considered the true author of any such ghost written book, and will still hold full copyrights to all original material within it. This is, however, subject to whatever agreements you and the client make.

After the job is proof read, paid for and delivered, ask for a reference, also asking the client if it’s okay to run an installment from the work on your website – with a credit that you are the ghost writer. Also, when the book is published, ask the client to include a reference to your name, perhaps within the Acknowledgements, as the book ghost writer.

You also don’t have to stop as just the manuscript or book ghost writer. You may also be able to help your client set up to get his or her book published. This largely involves contacting literary agents and publishers. I would suggest contacting small publishing houses, and not the larger ones, unless you have a celebrity client with a large scale best seller on your hands. Due to confidentiality issues and ethical issues, you can’t maintain contact with literary agents and publishers on a regular basis, but you can acquire lists of these people in order to contact them. Some more disreputable manuscript and book ghost writers also set up deals with literary agents and publishers where they are sent clients’ work that the agents and publishers were sent, in order to edit it for them. Under the table money is made this way. It’s not considered to be ethical practice.

It’s satisfying to complete a client’s book manuscript and then find him or her an agent and/or publisher. You can get a percentage of book sales this way, or by negotiating a deal with the book’s author while you are being the book ghost writer. Sometimes a client will want you to work “on spec;” instead of paying you in advance, they will ask you to take a percentage of the book’s profits. Unless you’re sure the book is going to sell broadly, it’s not advisable to do this, or you could end up working for free. But once you’ve got a book publisher’s attention, anything is possible.

Lastly, be sure and enjoy your new career. Writing can be a fulfilling line of work, so if you keep at it, you can have tons of fun working for authors, getting the first time one’s books written and published, and in general, having a “blast” as a book author, book writer, ghost writer, copy editor, and proof reader.

Get out there, now – and write!

10 Powerful Secrets for Dazzling Sales Copy

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Writing good sales copy is an art. Unless you’re a professional copy writer it takes a bit of crafting to compose a sales letter that drives huge sales.

That doesn’t mean it can’t be done. The craft of writing sales copy that sells means effectively relating to your visitors, properly selling them on your product’s benefits and creating trust.

Here are 8 secrets on how to write sales copy that’s sure to draw plenty of interest:

1. Use an Attention Grabbing Headline & Sub-Headline

You sales copy must grab attention immediately or you can kiss them goodbye. Web surfers are skimmers so you need to draw them in quickly if you want them to continue reading. Your headline should be in bold fact type with words that create curiosity that persuades them to read further.

Follow your headline with a sub-headline that highlights the best benefits of what your product is about. Use color to stimulate the reader’s senses by creating your headline and sub-headlines in different font colors.

Test your headlines often. Changing just one word can increase a reader’s interest by over 1000%. Do this by creating a few good headlines and test them to find out which ones create the most interest.

2. Create a Unique Selling Proposition (USP)

Your USP is your angle or sales position that you use to help your products stand out from the rest. For example, offering free delivery, a money back guarantee or a bonus offering can make you stand out among your competition. Offering something that helps you make your business ’special’ is what you need to find. Once you find it, emphasize it in your sales copy.

3. Prove Your Credibility

The internet is full of false claims and untrustworthy scammers, so internet surfers want peace of mind that you are a trustworthy business and are going to make good on your claims. Additionally you will want to move out ahead of your competition. To accomplish this, your sales copy need to include the following:

- Brief explanation of your background along with how and why you are knowledgeable in your field

- Include testimonials from existing customers

4. Emphasize the Benefits

Display proudly the benefits of your products. Do this with concise and to the point bullet points. There are items that convey how your product or service will benefit your potential customer.

For example, let’s say you sell a running shoe that has a special arch support, the feature would be the arch support and the benefits might be more comfort and longer endurance. Effectively communicating the benefits will give you the edge over your competition.

5. Instill an Element of Fear

Here’s where emotion can make an impression. Your reader has arrived at your sales letter because they need help. It may be to resolve a problem, make life easier, find more time, earn more money, whatever it is; they are looking to you as a possible solution. Determine what it is the reader will face if they don’t resolve their problem and spell them out in bold letters.

6. Include a Guarantee

Always offer a guarantee. A buyer is much more likely to make a purchase if they know they can recover their money if not satisfied. It eliminates the risk to them. This means offering a 100%, no-hassles, no-questions asked, money-back guarantee. If you offer a quality product and project confidence in its value, you won’t have many returns.

7. Offer at Least one Good Bonus

If you can over-deliver in value your customers are more likely to buy. Seal the deal by including a few good bonuses that make your product offer more appealing.

8. Initiate a Call to Action

Make that call to action. Tell your visitors what to do. People want to be directed on where to go. For example, use phrases like:

“For more information click here”

“To get your free trial click here”

“Order here”

If you simply make a suggestion or make it hard for them to figure out what they should do next, you could potentially lose sales.

9. Include Your Personal Handwritten Signature

In closing your sales letter, add your own personal handwritten signature. This adds a personal touch and projects a sense of sincerity. You can do this by scanning in your signature to a separate file and adding it to your sales copy. It’s also a good idea to include it on your website and/or blog.

10. Use a Postscript (P.S.)

Below your signature include a P.S. that restates your main offer and add to that a ’special bonus’. Your special bonus should include a time limit. This adds urgency to your viewers buying decision.

Studies have shown that after reading the headlines, a viewer will often skim to the bottom of the sales letter and read the P.S. first, so displaying your offer information along with a time sensitive bonus is not only appealing, it will also capture the skimmers.

Colorful Connections

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009
From the first day of school to jury duty last week, life is full of colorful connections. In June 2006, I completed my certification to be a True Colors facilitator. While no one, including me, wants to be put in a box, there are certain aspects of human behavior that resonate clearly as “more like us” or “less like us”.

Throughout my life, I have been a rules girl. I thrive in a structured environment which is why I did well in school and my parents were fearful I would never get a job. As appealing as that sounded to me, after I received my undergraduate degree, I chose to work in banking and law enforcement, deciding to become a student of life instead of a lifetime student. Both fields suited me well for the same reasons I excelled in school – their structure. For some people, it’s possible to see the rigidity in all of this instead of the beauty.

Part of being a student of life means I’ve spent time trying to understand human behavior by studying myself, discovering my strengths and what I do well. Most of my research came from the perspective of others – talented, kind souls who shared the truths I needed to hear rather than the ones I wanted to hear. These individuals were what I refer to as the colorful connectors in my journey. Some were “like me”, enabling me to hear their message with ease. With others, the differences were so great and the language so foreign that I did not translate the meaning or importance of their words for years.

Frequently, I am asked how I became interested in leadership or why I feel I’m qualified to speak about the subject. The quote I use often is from Vince Lombardi, “Leaders aren’t born, they’re made. And, they’re made like anything else, through hard work.” This quote applies to me just as much as it does to anyone else. Therefore, the answer to the original question about my interest is long in length (life long), and without sharing all of the details, I learned leadership lessons from the great colorful connectors in my life – through my life work and formal graduate studies. Recognizing the value of Lombardi’s statement, I discovered how to channel my energies appropriately which brought me to an understanding of what is now the most important principle of Upside Thinking: We are where we choose to be.

Do you surround yourself with people who tell you what you want to hear? Do you listen to the people in your sphere of influence who are colorful connectors? Do you seek out strategic business partners who see the world just like you?

Great leaders build a vision, create commitment, and understand how to bring out the best from people, which can only be done by allowing others to develop their strengths and celebrate their differences. The people closest to me often describe my personality as colorful, as my energy, enthusiasm, and passion for Upside Thinking can outlast a can of Red Bull or Monster on any day. The colors in my leadership persona come from choosing connections and connectors that bring richness to who I am. Colorful connectors help us foster a clear leadership vision and purpose for the journey – where happiness, success and meaning are found along the way.

Coral Reef Fish – Adaptations For Life on the Reef

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009
Of the myriad creatures that inhabit coral reefs, none are more obvious, colorful, or fascinating to watch than the fishes that live there. Hundreds of species may be found in relatively small areas of reef, with many of these small, well camouflaged, or hidden.

Coral reefs are unusually complex and colorful marine environments. The physical structure of these unique marine habitats differs radically from the open water habitats that comprise over 99% of the world’s oceans, with a diversity of life unmatched in any other marine ecosystem. Therefore, it is not surprising that resident fishes have developed a number of specialized adaptations for life in these colorful and complex habitats.

Body Shape

The body shape of most species of fish that associate closely with coral reefs differs substantially from the shapes of “typical” open water fishes. The latter are generally built for speed, and have evolved appropriate torpedo-like shapes that offer low frictional resistance to movement through water. However. in the complex reef environment, a premium is placed upon maneuverability rather than sheer speed. Thus, coral reef fish have evolved a body plan that maximizes their ability to make rapid turns, avoiding swift predators by quickly dodging into fissures in the reef or swiftly circling around coral heads.

The essence of this design is a deep and laterally compressed body (shaped like a pancake), as well exemplified by the angelfishes and butterflyfishes. A less obvious but critical aspect of this altered body plan includes a shift (compared to open water fishes) in the placement and orientation of the pectoral and pelvic fins, which act in concert with the flattened body shape to maximize maneuverability.

Coloration

Perhaps the most striking feature of coral reef fishes is the variety of brilliant and sometimes bizarre color patterns that adorn them. Again, the use of such color patterns in reef fishes contrasts starkly with the usual color patterns of open water fishes which typically are silvery.

The reasons for such bright and varied color patterns been debated for some time. In some cases, the patterns appear to facilitate concealment under certain conditions, as when the fish is resting in particular places. In other cases, coloration may be used in species recognition to assure mating success. Sometimes, bright contrasting colors are used to warn predators of venomous spines or flesh so as to avoid “mistaken” attacks.

Feeding Structures

With the unusual variety of prey items available to coral reef fishes, it is not surprising that many species have evolved highly specialized jaws, mouths and teeth suited to particular kinds of prey.

For example, “food specialists” like the butterflyfishes (Chaetodontidae) have evolved protruding mouths that are in essence forceps armed with fine teeth – a combination well suited to nipping the coral polyps that are the primary food source of these fishes. Similarly, the parrotfishes (Scaridae) have evolved a beak-like mouth ideally suited for scraping algae from hard coral surfaces.

In contrast, many other common reef-dwelling fishes such as snappers (Lutjanidae) are generalized feeders that have retained a more “typical” mouth and jaw structure that enables them to utilize a wide variety of prey.

There is still much to learn about this fascinating group of fishes, and the adaptations that have collectively made them such a diverse and successful part of the reef fauna.

7 Hidden Secrets to Writing Compelling Network Marketing Ad Copy

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Most Network Marketing companies encourage their distributors to purchase lots of pre-designed flyers and brochures from their catalogues. They promote the fact that it takes a lot of the guess work out of doing it yourself. All you have to do is buy them, hand as many out as possible and wait for your phone to ring off the hook! Sounds great…but does it work? Not really.

Companies make millions of dollars on their literature alone. It’s basically another product they get you excited about. The reason it doesn’t work to help you grow a business is because no matter how fancy and slick the message looks on card stock, it won’t work unless your target audience has a connection with it.

There is an art and science to writing the kind of compelling copy that attracts your target audience. I’m talking about the people who have a want, need or desire for what you have to offer. Not everyone wants your product, but if you know how to craft the right message, you can easily attract the right person. Keep reading to find out how it’s done.

Hidden Secret #1: You need to understand your target audience. Who is your market? It’s not your next door neighbor or the person standing in front of you in line at the grocery store who is going to want to reach out and grab your product from you. What are their fears and desires? What makes them tick? Knowing who they are is the only way to write the kind of ad copy that will make them want to call you.

Hidden Secret #2: Determine what you are trying to accomplish. Do you only want to get a few people who are serious about doing a business, or do you want to get a lot of people who can give you a lot of retail sales? The more hoops people have to jump through to get to you, the more serious they will be. Let your copy do the funneling for you. The more specific you get, the less time you will spend weeding through people who aren’t serious.

Hidden Secret #3:  Keep the price out of your copy. The more you elude to it, the fewer the response you will get. Instead, focus on the pain your prospect has that will make them want to contact you and try your product. Create a picture of how it will make their life easier and more enjoyable. Marketing is about solving specific problems of the consumer. Don’t let the attraction of money steer you away from helping people.

Hidden Secret #4:  You need to make extensive lists of the benefit of your product or service. Write them all down. The more specific you can get, the better. You should be focusing on the word benefit so much that you almost get sick of hearing it. That is how important it is to writing compelling ad copy. How is your target audience going to specifically benefit from taking your products.

Hidden Secret #5:  Be Specific.  If you are in the weight loss industry, losing weight is not specific enough as far as benefits go. Think of other things that can happen to your prospect if they use your product to lose the weight. Is it all- natural? Will it solve other health problems along with the weight loss? The more specific, the more serious your prospect will be.

Hidden Secret #6:  The end of your copy should totally resolve your prospects problem with your benefit. You found the solution, and it starts with getting a free report or expert guide. You are the expert and the more they know that, the better your results will be. Never end with a price. Just show them how they can get even more information from you.

Hidden Secret #7:  Do not focus on gimmicks just to get people to call you. You will waste all of your time trying to convince them to use your product instead of helping people who really want it. Ads highlighting free samples or coupons will only generate people looking for hand-out. They might generate a few sales, but you won’t find the kind of people who will explode your business.

96% of all network marketing distributors wind up quitting because they do not get proper marketing education. My business didn’t grow until I learned the right techniques, and they weren’t taught by my company or upline. Attracting the right audience comes from practicing the art of writing ad copy, not buying pre-designed flyers. Apply the secrets above and you’ll be well on your way to making your home-based business a success.

Understanding The Basics Of A Life Insurance Policy for the Policyholder

Monday, December 28th, 2009

What is the process of filing a life insurance claim?

To start, make sure that you have several copies of the policyholder’s death certificate, which can be obtained by one of the following sources:

•    The hospital from where the policyholder passed
•    The coroner’s office
•    The funeral director

After you obtain the copies, you should get in touch with the policyholder’s life insurance agent, bring them a copy of the policyholder’s death certificate, and complete the claim paperwork. If you don’t know who your policyholder’s life insurance agent was, there is no need to worry. All you have to do is contact the policyholder’s life insurance company, and an insurance agent can assist you there.

How does the death benefit work?

Your death benefit can work in one of the four ways of your choosing:

•    Lump sum – The whole death benefit will be given to you in one payment.
•    Life income – You get a steady income paid out to you for life, but the amount is based on the following:
•    Your benefit amount
•    Your gender
•    How old the policyholder was at the time of death.
•    Specific interest provision – At a pre-determined schedule, the life insurance company will pay you both the interest and the principle.
•    Interest income – The death benefit will remain in tact, and the life insurance company continues to hold the proceeds. You will be paid interest and be the next policyholder in line, and the proceeds will go to the second beneficiary when you pass.

Whichever option you choose, the law demands for life insurance companies to pay you the death benefit in some form or another within days. Check with your local division of insurance to learn more about the legal guidelines.

I can’t locate my policyholder’s life insurance policy. What should I do?

With life insurance, there are no databases to locate a purchased life insurance policy, which explains why policyholders and beneficiaries should know where to locate them. You can try doing the following:

•    Search for records, safes, safe deposit boxes in banks, and storage areas for documents dealing with insurance, check stubs, policy notices, or receipts.
•    Get in touch with the policyholder’s attorney and financial consultants. Usually, policyholders consult with these people to handle affairs after their death.
•    Talk with the policyholder’s employer(s) to see if they purchased a group life insurance policy.
•    Check the policyholder’s tax returns for any type of interest transferred from or to a life insurance agency.
•    Lookout for any annual life insurance premium mailings or dividend notices to come through the mail.
•    If the policyholder resided in Canada at some point, call the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association to check for a Canadian life insurance policy. Their phone number is (800) 268-8009.
•    Check the MIB Database to find the policyholder’s application that they filled out to obtain a life insurance policy. It costs $75 to look through. Note that one in five life insurance policy applications are found, but it may be worth it.

I’m going through a tough time financially, but I don’t want to end my life insurance coverage. What should I do?

Whatever you do, don’t skip payments on your monthly premiums because it would ultimately lead the life insurance company to terminate your coverage. Here are a few options to take when you are suffering financially:

•    Choose to cash out your policy, which will allow you to discontinue premium payments and accept the available cash value. Be forewarned though that you could be taxed if the cash value exceeds what you paid in premiums.
•    Choose to non-forfeiture, if the option is available to you. A non-forfeiture allows you to stop premium payments for a reduced death benefit without any cash savings. It would also allow you to change your whole life insurance policy to an extended term life insurance policy.
•    Choose to lapse policy, which would terminate your life insurance coverage. However, some insurance companies allow you to reinstate your policy within five years if:
•    You pay all the delinquent premiums and interest
•    You pass a medical exam.

When In Doubt, Ask A Life Insurance Agent

Don’t be afraid to speak to an insurance agent at any time to discuss more about life insurance policies. The more you understand them, the more you will be able to judge what type of coverage is right for you and your loved ones.

7 Must-Do Tips To Create A Powerful Ad Copy

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

When creating an ad copy, you should make it believable and
persuasive. Some of us are missing some crucial things to
include. Here are 7 tips to help you create a powerful ad copy.

1. Use a “P.S.” at the end of your ad copy. This is where you
either want to repeat a strong benefit or use a strong close,
like a free bonus. For example, “P.S. You can get (product),
worth over ($), for the low price of ($)!” Another example,
“P.S. I can not guarantee the (No.) bonuses will be here
tomorrow!”

2. You could end your ad copy with a discounted price. Just list
your regular price and then offer a discounted price off the
order ‘right now’. You could also offer a rebate that takes
effect instantly. For example, you could say, “Instead of paying
$99, you could order now and get an instant rebate of $20 – you
only pay $79!”

3. You could end your ad copy with a free sample or trial of
your product. If your ad didn’t attract them to buy, maybe a
free sample or trial would. If you were selling an e-book, you
could give them a free sample at the end of your ad copy. For
example, you could say, “If you’re still not sure about
ordering, download a FREE sample chapter!”

4. Motivate people to buy your product. Tell them positive
things. For example, you could say, “You can now reach your
goals and change your life if you buy our product.” If you come
across positive in your ad copy, they will become positive about
reaching their goals using your product.

5. Never assume people believe the information in your ad copy.
You need to back-up all your claims with indisputable evidence.
For example, you could include testimonials, expert
endorsements, third party tests or studies, strong guarantees, a
list of customers, pictures of customers, etc.

Feng Shui Color Tips

Sunday, December 27th, 2009
It’s very important in Feng Shui to have painted color on your walls in your home and office. Even if you’re renting you might be able to make a deal with your landlord that you’ll paint the walls back to white when you leave.

Feng Shui is about bringing aspects of nature into your living and working environments. I’m sure you can’t disagree that our world is a colorful place. Just think of green grass, blue-green oceans, colorful flowers, the vibrant yellow sun and so on.

It’s great to bring these amazing colors of nature indoors and paint them on your walls. Color has been known to improve our moods, stimulate our minds, increase our productivity at work, and even create better physical and mental health. Since color is connected to our energy (chi), the application of color is one of the important adjustments used in Feng Shui.

If you’re afraid of painting colors on your walls, start slowly. Add an accent wall to a room and then gradually add more and more color to each room of your home or workspace. Adding color to your environment will give you a colorful life!

Here are 6 color tips.

1. Red stimulates the senses and is associated with strength, joy, motivation and love. This is an exciting and spirited decorating color. It’s used to improve blood circulation, the nervous system, to treat anemia and paralysis. Red is a good color to help you feel grounded and secure. Reds must also be used carefully. It can generate anger and may be disturbing to those with mental health problems.

2. Yellow can stimulate joy & wisdom, and is a color that encourages flexibility and adaptability. It can lift your mood, inspire you, and improve your sense of well-being. Yellow has a positive effect on the stomach, intestines, liver, gall bladder, adrenal glands and middle back. This color is also great for helping with releasing fears and anger. Yellow is also the Feng Shui health color.

3. Orange is a happy, social color that inspires creativity, ambition, and energetic activity. If you want to perk up your love life, paint your bedroom a shade of orange. Orange is used to treat a range of problems including lower intestines, kidneys, ovaries, and lower back. This color also helps with creating clear personal boundaries and aids in releasing childhood issues and trauma.

4. Green reminds us of nature and can be both restful and energizing. It’s closely linked to healing, and color therapists use it to soothe pain. It can detoxify the body and bring balance to negative and positive energies. It also balances the body, mind and spirit. Green relieves tension in the blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. It oversees the upper back, chest, shoulders, arms, hands and lungs. Green is the color to heal all physical and emotional issues related to the heart.

5. Blue symbolizes inspiration, peace, and tranquility. The color blue is used to treat tension, fear and insomnia. Blue will reduce inflammation. Sky blue is the color associated with throat chakra. It’s frequently used for problems occurring in the laryngitis, sore throat, tonsillitis, toothaches, etc. Blues also stimulate communication and spiritual understanding. Research also suggests it may be effective in guided imagery therapies to reduce pain levels. Blue has been used successfully in mental institutions to calm patients.
