Having enjoyed Annie Korzen’s special brand of humor on NPR, I couldn’t resist buying this book. Not only is the book funny, you can actually learn something. Why don’t they teach you these things in school?

I loved reading Bargain Junkie. Annie Korzen is HILARIOUS. She keeps you laughing as she shares true stories of her life as a “Bargainista”. Annie is an Hollywood actress, but not rich and famous. She has played a variety of small roles on shows like Seinfeld, ER, and Hannah Montana. Annie also writes comedy and it shows here. You will love reading about her appearance on Oprah. The book is full of ideas on getting great deals on food, clothing, cars, travel, and more. Because Annie has such a warm and funny personality, the book is fun to read. it has a different feel than a typical “10 Ways to Save Money” magazine article. Bargain Junkie is addicting. Learn how to “Live Large, but Pay Little”.

Ths book is funny. I enjoyed all of her anecdotes as much as anything. Her writing style is built around stories & vignettes from her life, so just know not to expect a “Mary Hunt” type book, like “Tiptiouary” or a book of listings of straight out thrifty ideas, this book is more of a philosophy. (I do enjoy the “Mary Hunt” type of book as well, this just is more story type writing.) I enjoy Ms Korzen’s approach to living, she’s not exactly “picky cheap”, but more “living large” oriented. I was able to read this book in small increments, but it would be enjoyable as a one sitting read as well. The only surprise is that the volumem I received didn’t have a cover like that pictured, it had a plain white cover & back. And I just looked at it again & found the problem, the cover of my book was put on backwards. The pictured cover is on the inside of my book & the outside has no picture or printing whatsoever. But I don’t feel like paying shipping to get a new book. Anyway, I’d get it again.

Annie Korzen has written a hilarious book, so enjoyable even rich people will like it! But, on the off chance you’re not wealthy, her book will save you a small fortune… and if that’s all you’ve got (a small fortune) be grateful. Enjoyable reading just when you need it.
